AEO CERTIFICATION

Within the scope and framework of Community customs legislation, EU has established since 1 January 2008, the Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) program. The AEO certification currently forms a bridge between fair trade and customs controls.

By applying specific procedures and meeting a range of criteria and conditions, more and more natural and legal persons who are part of the supply chain are granted AEO status and enjoy benefits and privileges to improve their role and competitiveness in international trade.

Types of AEO certifications:

  • AEOC – customs simplifications

  • AEOS – security and safety

  • AEOF – a combination of the two

AEO certifications are granted according to your business activities and profile. In all cases, these certifications can significantly reduce administrative costs, help move cargo faster and modernise your internal operations.

Immediate benefits include:

  • Less physical and document-based controls.

  • Priority in transactions and completion of required procedures during customs clearance.

  • Lower guarantees required for specific customs procedures and regimes.

  • Access to simplified procedures-summary declarations.

As a certified AEOC company, Pantazis & Associates can assess your company’s eligibility for AEO status and recommend the most appropriate type of certification that corresponds to your activities based on the authorisation criteria. Our company’s experience and knowledge support all corrective actions and any other individual procedures you will have to undertake to comply with the authorisation criteria.
